A drip echoing through the halls keeps rhythm with your quickly beating heart and the quiet sigh of wind through the broken windows follows the pattern of your hushed breaths.
You had a dream last night... or was it a dream? Was it a nightmare? You were here, in this warehouse, and you saw something, but the details of your dream have left you by now.
"It was merely a dream." You try to assure yourself. "I will investigate, and when I see the details that fail to match what I saw before, I can know for certain that it was my imagination at work, and I can get some rest." you verbally detail your agenda to ensure you do not lose track of your purpose here.
As passionately as you wanted to believe that your dream had no significance, now that you are here, the images in your mind align perfectly. You are certain you saw this last night and you are certain that you were here, in mind or in some form.
You quietly step deeper into the warehouse and allow your mind to remember your dream more vividly. You try to focus on what you saw in your dream in order to determine where to go next, but a sense of danger makes you timid and nervous in your exploration.
Across the warehouse floor is a door that hangs on its hinges. It reveals a stairway behind it, with a path leading to the second floor and one leading beneath the building. You look at the darkened window on the metal door leading to the basement and you regard the moon lit stairs to the second floor.
You are cautious in deciding which path to take, but by the time you reach the ground separating the two, you have made your decision.
