Investigate the Basement

Despite the gun and the hostile tone of the brunette, you feel a little safer now that you are no longer navigating alone. You reach towards the door to the basement, "Hold on, this seems familiar."

She directs the gun directly at you once more and in the corner of your eye you see the nose of the gun and feel an added weight on your shoulders. "Don't test me!" She warns, "I told you to leave!"

Against your better judgement you open the door and a scream from the depths of the warehouse are instantly audible. You heard this last night as well, you remember this clearly now. The dream rushes back as a vivid memory.

You were speeding through this warehouse, down into the depths, down a hall, into a boiler room, into the office in the rear. The dark and dank room was illuminated with a plethora of candles melting into puddles. The room was filled with hooded figures in long brown robes. In a clearing at their center was a man, no older than his mid 20's that begged for his life. His dark hair fell in a mess around his face, slicked to his skin with cold sweat. His screams woke you from your dream.

Now you hope that if the things you saw are coming to fruition, there must be something you can do to stop it. You exchange a brief glance with the brown-haired woman and you descend down the stairs, "Bring your gun" you request, "We might need it down here."

You navigate easily to the room you saw in your dream, and you find it like you expected, for the most part. The candles, anonymous figures, and victim are all here. However, the victim appears different from the person in your dream, though equally in danger. He is younger, possibly in his teens and has short sandy hair and he is much further along in whatever these strangers have been doing to him. His skin is lacerated open, exposing the muscle beneath it. The pattern makes it appear almost as though his skin had been shrinking back or recoiling from some unseen force, peeling open and splitting apart from the body in the process.

Now you are exceptionally grateful for the gun-wielding stranger beside you, but you wonder if that will be enough. The robed figures lift their heads and look to the door. Some break away from the group and begin to approach you.

The screams of the victim make it difficult but despite the panic, you quickly make a decision.

>> Stay and Fight

>> Flee
